Again, sorry for the delay.

"On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' for I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Matthew 9:12-13

Coming from the lips of Jesus Christ, you and I both know this is important stuff. How many times do we sit around and talk about things with fellow Christians? How often do we reach out to the athiests, Mormons, and other people who don't follow Jesus and His teachings? If this isn't a command to go out and evangelize, I don't know what is. I was inspired to do this Scripture from talking with one of my good friends last week. She was telling me how she realized that she spent a good deal of her time with fellow Christians, which don't get me wrong, is awesome. But how often did she reach out to those who don't know the Way? who are lost? I don't mean to convict you, but this is the time when we as Christians, followers of God, need to reach out to those around us. Not spend so much time with believers, but go out into this dark world and make a difference. Questions/comments, feel free to e-mail me. Have a great week. :)

Sorry this is later than normal. :)

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Isaiah 40:28-31

What can I say? I stumbled across this little bit of prophecy today and was just in awe. Granted, I have read this before. But it never meant as much as it did today. Go back right now and read it again, read it really slowly and really think about what it says and means. I don't have much to say because I think it says enough. God is so awesome! Have a great week. :)

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
Jeremiah 29:11-13

The Scripture for this week provides comfort for me and I'm sure many others. God tells Jeremiah that He is in control, and if we trust in Him, everything will turn out okay! There are going to be those times when we say, "what is going on, Lord?!", but this Scripture is just a reminder that God is in control. The second sentence is key, too. The last part especially. God says Himself, "I will listen to you." How amazing! When we're at those times when we've been praying and the answer isn't coming, we have proof right here that God is listening! Yay! And the last sentence...as a Christian who has accepted Christ as my personal Savior, I affirm that statement. (there was my debate talk for the day :)) The song "Amazing Grace" reminds me of it..."I once was lost, but now am found." Kids, God is stinkin' awesome and this Scripture totally backs that up. Feel free to e-mail me with comments or suggestions or questions. Have a great week!

Hello friends! My first Scripture is one that I'm very familiar with. It comes from one of Paul's letters.

"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." ~Colossians 3:1-2.

I think I could go into a whole big sermon about these two simple sentences. I'll spare you, but if you want to hear it, feel free to e-mail me and I'll be glad to share with you. :-)

Now on a more personal level, I struggle with the last part of this Scripture. I am a very materialistic person, and I'm blessed by my parents so much, maybe even too much. I always try to remember, though, that it doesn't matter who has the nicest car, the coolest clothes, or who looks the best. These things will NOT get me into Heaven, and I can't take them with me! Jesus loves us because of who we are, not because we have the best stuff. :-) If we set our hearts and thoughts upon Jesus, what can go wrong? As Christians, we have an advantage in life. When life's hurdles stop us in our path, we have God there to lift us up and help us get over them.
God is perfect so if we're constantly thinking about Him and doing what He wants us to, we can become more like Him. How fun! Have a GREAT week and if you have any comments, feel free to e-mail me. Love you guys!

I'm so excited to be sharing with you all the Scripture of the week! :-) My first post will be at the beginning of next week. I encourage all of you to memorize what I've selected. Check back weekly and I pray that what I say will be God using me to speak to you! Thanks again. :-)
